"I started out in this industry lost, confused and discouraged leaving a 16 year venture in the landscape design industry. When it became less challenging and the fulfillment was a rendered dormant, I diligently searched for as much information about decorative concrete online. I was starting to struggle with the reality to just find an easier career field. Something not so technical and I went back and forth on my childhood dream and reality. I kept saying I can do it, but where do I start? I will never forget the day that I was introduced to SBC and my life had entirely changed.

Finally I found a company which surpassed all of my expectations. I ordered the basic videos from SBC and was so was so excited about what knowledge that was coming my way. Surprisingly I opened the package and there was an invoice that had Brian’s cell phone number at the bottom. I took a double take and said “yeah right”, what company would actually have a real contact phone number? To prove my theory right I called the phone number listed on the bottom and I had been proven wrong. Bryan not only answered the phone but he listened to me. He didn’t interrupt me and he made me feel me feel like there was another person who could relate. I explained my situation to him and with no hesitation he gave me an instant shot of confidence and I was at peace. Bryan immediately started giving advice and I started taking notes and trying everything he suggested.

I was building my new business and didn’t have the funds for the complete DVD training course that SBC offers for a few more weeks. I explained to Bryan & Tammi and they understood my dilemma. I then received a phone call from Bryan explaining that SBC had figured out away to help me get started sooner. I couldn’t refuse the offer and was excited to receive the course and start my learning process. I could not believe how someone could put all of their trade secrets on video when the competition was so high. The videos are packed with 20 years of information that could only come from trial and error and the will to produce something better. I know the landscape industry very well and it would be an extreme challenge to pack all of my knowledge and information into a video and simplify it the way Bryan has mastered it in all of his videos. I completed a job this week that made me just stand back and say under my breath, “Thanks Bryan”. I would have never been able to have the confidence or drive with out SBC. I am counting the days until I fly to Phoenix for my 6 day learning adventure with Bryan.

I have also purchased his texture rollers and Bryan’s books and I recommend them to everyone. The rollers produce an extreme amount of detail and are very easy to use. The jobs that are produced from Bryan’s videos and products are high end and top of the line.

Bryan has now become my friend and official mentor and I owe SBC the world. I plan to complete every job or project in the same manner that SBC does business with solid integrity. RE: Decorative Concrete Training

I met Bryan at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas, I was searching for more information on decorative concrete to add to my flooring business and was amazed at all the artisans that worked with concrete. There where booths after booths of craftsman selling their products which were all comparable. Although great products are out there, they were still very expensive with shipping. Also, if there was a project I needed to do I would need to do it now, not wait or travel far.

When I got home I poured over all the info and called a lot of people. I then received an e-mail from SBC so I called them up. Bryan answered the phone, I was surprised and impressed. He talked with me at length about what his company was about and how he’ll show me secrets on making my own mix that I can buy locally. So I bought the Business Pro Package and watched all the DVDs over and over again. They were very informative and I was excited to get started. I called SBC and Bryan said I could show up and he would give me hands on training. I wanted to learn the art of coloring, vertical concrete, and mix design. I learned that, and so much more, great job!

Bryan has all the characteristics of a great teacher; kindness, humbleness and patience. The classes are a must and so are the videos, but it doesn’t stop there, the ongoing information is priceless! If I have a question at any time all I have to do is call. That is peace of mind. Bryan is a visionary and thinks outside the box. He teaches in a way you can understand with hands on practical information, getting you excited about what you are creating. The possibilities are as far as your creative mind can take it.
I have a few jobs coming up, a fire place with carved stones to the ceiling on either side of the fire place and in the middle a weeping water fall, another is a shower wall, I will use the slate roller for texturing. The rollers are a time saver and the knowledge I received gives me great confidence.
You are never too old or never too young to get into this field either for profit or for your own projects. Bryan and Tammi you guys are great mentors. You’re a good team and you have a great family, I feel I am part of your family at SBC.

The class "High-End Concrete Coating Design" by Something Better Co. meets the goals and objectives of the class to provide the students' with step-by-step information about how to develop various creative and intriguing concrete projects to be used at home. This artist/instructor is highly knowledgeable in this and other areas. He presents in an understandable way how to produce the projects that you can use at home and ongoing training is provided if needed. I would recommend this class without hesitation!

It was wonderful having hands on training to learn how to make simulated flagstone or other colored surfaces for patio's and sidewalks. I also enjoyed making the table top and creating the simulated rock which ended up having one side look like the face of your dog. I enjoyed using the different rollers and stamps to create different sample boards. I liked the fact that previous students were there and showed us pictures of what they had done since the class.

Prior to this class, the closest I had ever been to concrete was walking on it or maybe passing stacks of the bags of mortar or stucco mix at Home Depot or Lowe's.
