Daily Devotional

Do you even realize how much God Loves You! Yes YOU! Every single detail of your daily life is so very important to God, the one who placed the sun, moon, stars and universe in it's place ALSO cares deeply about whether you will get that job, if your children will ever listen to you, if your parents will stay together or separate, if you car gets fixed, if you have a home, if you will eat tonight, if that long lost friend will ever be in your life again...."EVERY" thing that is important to you IS important to God! Trails can be a distractions, BUT when you allow God To be God in the process of moving "Through" the trial, God Will not only restore all that you have lost along the way, but He will create in you all that you were meant to be in the first place, allowing you to fully step into the reason your were created.

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. 1 Peter 5:7

Moral Authority

Kings detest wrongdoing, for a throne is established through righteousness. Proverbs 16:12

Moral authority gives leaders the creditability to lead the most effectively. Presidents, judges, congressmen, governors, mayors, businessmen, teachers, preachers and parents all require moral authority to be a leader worth following. It is the fabric of faith in God’s standards that bolsters respect from followers. So, what is your standard for conduct? Is your conscience governed by Christ’s character? Is He your baseline of behavior?

If everyone “does what is right in his own eyes” (Judges 21:25, KJV), there is cultural chaos and moral confusion. It may be a work culture that is inconsistent in its accountability or a ho...

Think Clearly About What You Eat
By Rick Warren — Jun 21, 2017

“‘Test us for ten days,’ he said. ‘Give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare us with the young men who are eating the food of the royal court, and base your decision on how we look.’ [The guard] agreed to let them try it for ten days. When the time was up, they looked healthier and stronger than all those who had been eating the royal food” (Daniel 1:12-15 GNT).

When Daniel refused to be defiled by eating the food of King Nebuchadnezzar’s court, he presented the guard with another option: “‘Test us for ten days,’ he said. ‘Give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare us with ...

Honor, Duty, Country

All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands. 1 Samuel 17:47

Nations with effective armies are founded on honor, duty, and country. ‘Honor’ is worship of the Creator and respect for His creation. ‘Duty’ is obedience to God and His word and the obligation to promote peace and tranquility. ‘Country’ is a fierce loyalty to the home of the brave and land of the free. Honor, duty, and country promote a tenacious trust in the Lord, not arrogant reliance on our military might.

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God” (Psalm 20:7).

“The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.” Nahum 1:7 (NIV)

We’ve all felt the sting of deep hurts, disappointments and how we thought life would be. But even though I’ve experienced devastation firsthand, sometimes I really struggle with how to help others hold on through the heartbreak.

A few years ago, a dear of friend of mine was going through a divorce. I remember agonizing over how to help … what to say, what not to say. So, I avoided reaching out for fear of saying the wrong thing.Until one day when a moving truck pulled up to the front of my friend’s house. Sometimes moving signifies something exciting and new. Sometimes … it do...

We Don’t Need to Fight Critics

By Rick Warren — May 25, 2017

“So I replied by sending this message to them: ‘I am doing a great work! I cannot stop to come and meet with you.’ Four times they sent the same message, and each time I gave the same reply” (Nehemiah 6:3-4 NLT).
Negative people will distract you. You know God has given you an important assignment. But these naysayers tell you that you’re the wrong person. You’ve got the wrong idea. You’re doing it the wrong way.

Take Nehemiah, for example. Nehemiah wasn’t a pastor or a priest. He was a businessman. Israel had been taken captive by the Babylonians. The Israelites had been in exile for 70 years — and then the Babylonians let them go home. Jerusalem h...

Life Lessons I Learned From S. Truett Cathy's Funeral

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. Proverbs 22:1

I was honored and blessed to be one of several thousand who attended Truett’s funeral on September 10, 2014. I arrived two hours early and sat 40 feet from the casket. I was there out of deep respect and to support my friend Woody who was one of the speakers. Hundreds of others watched via video in the overflow area and in the Chick-fil-A staff offices. News reporters gathered outside, but what took place inside was a piece of history that only a Jesus follower could fully appreciate. Truett represented goodness, common sense and decency. He was not a celebrity, but a servant. Though we only met twice, I wept because I felt...

Over one-third of Protestant Christians have been through at least one divorce. NAME provides a solution to shift this statistic. More than one quarter of a million marriages have been strengthened and saved through NAME’s ministries.

Find A Counseling Center

The National Association of Marriage Enhancement (NAME) is a network of churches and couples committed to biblical marriage ministry. We do this through a certification process where lay couples within the local church undergo intensive biblical training to be raised up as counselors to the marriages within that church and community.
