Daily Devotional

Do you even realize how much God Loves You! Yes YOU! Every single detail of your daily life is so very important to God, the one who placed the sun, moon, stars and universe in it's place ALSO cares deeply about whether you will get that job, if your children will ever listen to you, if your parents will stay together or separate, if you car gets fixed, if you have a home, if you will eat tonight, if that long lost friend will ever be in your life again...."EVERY" thing that is important to you IS important to God! Trails can be a distractions, BUT when you allow God To be God in the process of moving "Through" the trial, God Will not only restore all that you have lost along the way, but He will create in you all that you were meant to be in the first place, allowing you to fully step into the reason your were created.

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. 1 Peter 5:7

When Temptation Calls, Just Hang Up

By Rick Warren — Aug 19, 2017

“A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is arrogant and careless” (Proverbs 14:16 NASB).It’s common sense that if you don’t want to get stung, stay away from the bees! If you don’t want to get burned, don’t get close to the fire! If you don’t want to fall off the cliff, don’t hang off the ledge! The goal is not to see how close you can get to temptation but rather how far away from it you can stay.Proverbs 14:16 says, “A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is arrogant and careless” (NASB). A fool thinks he can handle temptation, but who is he kidding? You don’t go to a bar just to eat pretzels! Y...

If God Is in it, I Can Rest

“Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” Acts 5:38-39 (NIV)

I felt God in the details from the beginning. It was hard work, but I was grateful to do it. I did everything I was supposed to do, but it didn’t turn out the way I hoped.

Have you ever been there? You’re doing everything you feel Jesus has called you to do. It’s a mix of messy and beautiful, and you’re OK with that. You love the times you sense God doing something powerful, but there are times you work as hard as you can, and...

Choose Holiness over Happiness

By Rick Warren — Aug 18, 2017

“We are tempted when we are drawn away and trapped by our own evil desires. Then our evil desires conceive and give birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death” (James 1:14-15 GNT).
Today we live in an age of irresponsibility, where no one wants to admit that their problems are their own fault. We’ve all become victims. No problem we have is ever considered our fault anymore; it’s always somebody else’s problem. We blame others. We blame the government, the media, our parents, the schools, our DNA, and the environment — everything but ourselves.

The truth is that we bring most of our problems on ourselves. We just need to accept responsibility and...

Teachable Leaders Adapt

To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means that I might save some. 1 Corinthians 9:22

Leaders adapt when people or circumstances change, so they can more effectively execute their priorities. The temptation is to do nothing and then suffer the consequences of blind belief in inferior assumptions. For example, your customer may have purchased your product at a premium in the past, but competition now gives them an alternative so you may need to change.

Or perhaps a leader’s style of arm's length management has worked up until now, but current realities of cost cutting and change require him or her to be more hands on. The new normal in economics and people’s psyc...

Don't Go There

Do not say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I’ll pay that man back for what he did.” Proverbs 24:29

It’s tempting to retaliate for good reasons, but a righteous cause becomes unrighteous when it is pursued in pride. Perhaps you have been disrespected by a dramatic accusation. You have been insulted by an insensitive board member. You have been slurred by a deceptive competitor. You have been misunderstood by an uninformed friend. Payback is the plan of the insecure and immature, but prayer is the posture of the patient.

God gives grace to the undeserving. This is the model for Christians to follow. A grace reaction to humiliation is humility. Grace looks in the face of hurt and hatred and does not hold a gru...

God is Not Finished Yet

Some years ago a Rottweiler attacked our golden retriever puppy at a kennel. The animal climbed out of its run and into Molly’s and nearly killed her. I wrote a letter to the dog’s owner, urging him to put the dog to sleep. But when I showed the letter to the kennel owner, she begged me to reconsider. “What the dog did was horrible, but I’m still training him. I’m not finished with him yet.”

God would say the same about the Rottweiler who attacked you. What he did was unacceptable, inexcusable, but I’m not finished yet. Your enemies still figure into God’s plan. Their pulse is proof. God hasn’t given up on them. They may be out of His will, but not out of His r...

It Matters How You Say Something
By Rick Warren — Jul 25, 2017

“Thoughtless words can wound as deeply as any sword, but wisely spoken words can heal” (Proverbs 12:18 GNT).
When you plan to lovingly confront someone, after you’ve checked and corrected your motivation, then plan your presentation. You have to think about when you’ll say it (make sure the other person is rested), what you’ll say (introduce it well so it will be received well), and how you’ll say it.

I’ve had a lot of practice in having a loving confrontation. And I’ve discovered that there are three things that work if you want the message to get through to the person you love.

1. Say it tactfully.Proverbs 16:21 says, &ldq...

Being Content is a Learning Process
By Rick Warren — Jul 8, 2017

“Isn’t everything you have and everything you are sheer gifts from God? So what’s the point of all this comparing and competing? You already have all you need” (1 Corinthians 4:7-8 The Message).

Instead of focusing so much on what you don’t have and what didn’t happen, be grateful for what you do have. This doesn’t come naturally to me, probably not for you either, and not even for the apostle Paul, who said, “I have learned to be content.” Being content is a learning process.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 4:7-8, “Isn’t everything you have and everything you are sheer gifts from God? So what’s th...

Heaven's Handprints

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. Isaiah 49:16

You are marked by God’s handprints; from head to toe, He has identified you with Himself. His hands molded you and made you into who you are. His hands are so enormous that He has engraved everyone into His palm. Like a life-sized dye cast, He has shaped your soul. This is why you desperately need His tender touch. You need the hand of God to reshape you daily into His original design and purpose. The hand of God never changes, but you do. You can lose the shape of our Savior and forget who you are: a child of the King, forgiven, guiltless, and grace-filled.

You are free to forgive and are set loose to serve others. He has engraved your n...

Mom’s Pantry was founded because in Arizona, one in five families do not have the ability to provide enough food to feed the entire household. Through the collaboration and generosity of a local family and interested parties, the vision and mission to combat hunger brought Mom’s Pantry to life.Mom’s Pantry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and aims to serve the community to distribute resources that provide much-needed nutrition to needy adults and children. Mom’s Pantry accepts donations of both food and money to help us meet our goals, and 100% of all donations – both food and money – go directly toward helping families in need.Volunteers are always needed to help stock shelves, coordinate food drives, and help with literally hundreds of different tasks to help make Mom's Pantry the best resource for those in need. Even more so, Mom's Pantry always needs donations of food to provide the best help possible for those in need.
